Manchester United have gone six games without a win for the first time since 2019 after a draw with Leeds United in the Premier League. Dominic Calvert-Lewin levelled for Leeds after Bryan Mbeumo had put United in front, and the Leeds striker earned the highest player rating of the afternoon.
Leeds United player ratings
James Trafford (7): Showed bravery by racing 30 yards out of his box to clear when failure to execute would have been disastrous. Leeds defenders know they can give him the ball under pressure.
James Justin (6): Swung over a couple of early crosses to test the visitors’ defence, but Mbeumo caught him on his heels for the Man Utd goal.
Nico Elvedi (7): His near-post header almost put Leeds in front.
Tarik Muharemovic (7): Calm in possession, though the visitors’ set-up left him with no-one to mark at times. He was a major threat at the other end, with a header that set up Calvert-Lewin’s equaliser.
Jayden Bogle (7): An attacking threat from wing-back as Leeds pushed forward, and he had a shot saved by Lammens.
Ethan Ampadu (6): Lucky to escape a card for a late tackle on Mbeumo at the start. Otherwise produced his usual assured display.
Ao Tanaka (6): Perhaps a little too cautious at times. He got into the game as Leeds pressed after the leveller, and his long-range effort went over. Replaced by Longstaff in the 79th minute.
Gabriel Gudmundsson (7): Booked for catching Andrey Santos from behind. He did really well to force Amad back when the Ivorian wanted to run free on goal.
Anton Stach (6): Could not control midfield duels in the opening period, but was better in the second half.
Noah Okafor (6): Had no chance to repeat his Old Trafford heroics. He lashed a second-half shot over and made a poor pass when he might have released Calvert-Lewin. Replaced by Nmecha in the 72nd minute.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (8): Grew into the game after a subdued start. One first-half header went wide and another in the second half was straight at Lammens. He was strong enough to control the ball and apply the finish to level.
Lukas Nmecha (5): Came on for Okafor in the 72nd minute and worked hard to try to create.
Subs not used: Zetterer, Wilson, Aaronson, Bijol, Bahoya, Bard, Gruev.
Manchester United player ratings
Senne Lammens (7): Made a good save to deny Elvedi in a solid performance.
Leny Yoro (6): Faced a stern physical test despite starting at right-back. He has been thrown in at the deep end this season.
Harry Maguire (7): Another largely solid display. He came out on top in the first-half duel with Calvert-Lewin but found it much harder in the second.
Lisandro Martinez (6): Kept his place despite inflammatory comments, and was cheered by Man Utd fans and booed by Leeds supporters. Did well enough, but was replaced at the break by Mazraoui.
Diogo Dalot (6): Yet another different left-back option. He held his own, but should not really be in that position.
Andrey Santos (7): Another industrious performance, which raised the question of why he had been used so sparingly previously.
Carlos Baleba (7): Keen to get on the ball and carry it forward. His partnership with Santos brings energy. He even tried a 25-yard shot, but it was off target. Replaced by Mount in the 72nd minute.
Amad Diallo (6): His pace was a threat, even if the visitors did not make the most of it. His second-half shot was blocked.
Youri Tielemans (7): Delivered an excellent cross for Mbeumo’s opener and was more effective with two midfielders behind him.
Bruno Fernandes (6): Had another tough afternoon in what has been a difficult season for him so far. He overhit a free-kick in a dangerous position and sent it out for a throw, then was booked for a late tackle on Muharemovic. Everything seems forced and a struggle at the moment.
Bryan Mbeumo (7): Started in an inside-left position and tried to link play, but it is not a natural role. He should have scored with a first-half header and did not threaten with another opportunity, but persevered and eventually got his goal. He was not strong enough to hold Calvert-Lewin off for the equaliser.
Noussair Mazraoui (6): Leeds became more of a threat when he came on at half-time, though he made a vital injury-time block.
Mason Mount (6): Can be effective and tried to create, but his impact was limited.
Subs not used: Darlow, De Ligt, Rashford, Zirkzee, Lacey, Amass.
