Kompany hospitalised after collapsing at Bayern’s training ground

Vincent Kompany collapsed during Bayern Munich’s training session at Säbener Straße on Friday and was taken to hospital. According to Sky Sports, a rescue helicopter landed at the training ground to take him to hospital immediately, after he was first placed in a Munich ambulance.

The Belgian missed the pre-match press conference ahead of Bayern’s Champions League duel with Arsenal, but he led his side from the dugout as normal. He had also been forced to sit through the entire 90 minutes of their match against RB Leipzig.

Sky Sports added that Kompany had already felt pain in his legs before the Arsenal match, which it linked to a virus and resulting hip problems.
