Harry Kane has agreed in principle to a new long-term contract with FC Bayern, running through June 2029, and both sides have reportedly settled the financial terms.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, citing Sky reporter Michael Bridge, reports that the two parties have reached a verbal agreement. The contract term and the financial terms have already been negotiated. The contract documents are now with the lawyers, who are reviewing the deal and are expected to approve it for signing.
Although the new annual salary has not been publicly disclosed, an agreement on compensation is reportedly in place. The report confirms what had already emerged in recent days, when reports indicated that Bayern and Kane had agreed on an extension through 2029.
The 33-year-old’s current contract runs until the summer of 2027, so the new deal would tie him to the club for two more years.
Long-term plans in Munich
Bayern officials have made it clear in recent months that they are planning for the long term with their star striker. Kane has also signalled on several occasions that he feels at home in Munich and is open to staying longer.
Most recently, sporting director Max Eberl said talks were going well but had not yet been finalised, and that some details still needed to be worked out. Those details now appear to be resolved, leaving only the legal formalities.
Once the documents are reviewed and approved, the signing could take place. If it does, Bayern will settle one of the most important questions about the future of their squad: Kane wants to stay, and both sides have apparently agreed on the contract term and salary.
